Personal Insights and Background

My name is Brendan Ecclesine - it's nice to meet you!

Originally from Connecticut, I grew up outside of Boston, and graduated from Princeton in 2014 with a BA in Comparative Literature. While in college, I combined my appreciation of Spanish with my interest in finance by completing a summer internship in Madrid at an asset manager called Portocolom AV. I always think back fondly on that cultural experience!

Upon graduation, I worked for 2+ years as an investment banking analyst at a leading middle-market bank called GCA (since acquired by Houlihan Lokey). This role not only taught me the fundamentals of M&A and the intricacies of financial modeling, but also gave me the opportunity to make an observable impact on lean deal teams.

Eager for a new challenge, I later worked for ~4 years as a sales (and, to a lesser extent, operations) professional at an educational technology Software-as-a-Service (“SaaS”) company called Academy of Mine. The flagship product is Learning Management System (“LMS”) software for companies offering online Continuing Education and employee training programs. In this role, I learned to better understand customer needs and communicate more effectively.

Anxious to return to M&A, I pivoted to a leading PE-backed veterinary consolidator called PetVet Care Centers. As an M&A / business development professional, I've evaluated more than one hundred opportunities over the past ~3 years, in addition to closing a handful of strategic acquisitions.

Lastly, over the past several years, I've developed a keen interest in computer programming. The "Broker Assessment" and "LBO Valuation Calculator" are tangible examples of applying what I've learned in Python in a business setting. Other relevant applications at E115 Advisory include machine learning to measure buyer suitability based on owner preferences. Computer programming is exciting, though very humbling - there are challenges around every corner, and I'm looking forward to continuing learning more. I still have a lot to explore (and improve upon)!

In my free time, I enjoy playing golf with my family and friends, running, and skiing. I also love watching sports, especially football.
